Categories of Students
for MA Programme in Development Studies The
Institute admits MA students under the following categories: I) REGULAR
(FULL -TIME) These are
students who work full-time for their MA degree. II) SPONSORED
(FULL-TIME) A
candidate in this category is sponsored by a recognised
R&D organisation, academic institution,
governmental organization, NGO, development agency or industry for doing MA
in the Institute on a full-time basis.
The applicant must be a regular employee of his/her organisation with at least two years of experience at the
time of admission and be engaged in professional work in the discipline in
which admission is sought. He/She will
not receive any financial support from the Institute. Sponsorship letter must be attached with
the application. . |

Eligibility
for Regular ** MA Candidates A Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3
years’ duration or its equivalent from a recognised
University, in any discipline with a minimum average of 50 % marks or 5.5 CPI
in a 10-point scale [ 45 % or 5.0 CPI in a 10-point scale, for Scheduled
Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Person with Disability (PD) candidate]. |

Eligibility for Sponsored
(Full-Time) MA Candidates Same as
for `Regular’ candidates, but also fulfilling additional conditions specified
for Sponsored (Full-Time) candidates, as indicated under “Categories of Students for MA Programme”. |

Reservation of Seats for SC, ST, OBC and PD
categories: As per Govt. of India rules. |
