Important instructions
- There are 9 experiments in all. All these experiments are to be done during this semester.
- Each experiment is to be completed in one turn.
- In case if you miss an experiment you must support your absence with a suitable document. You should also inform the course coordinator through email.
- Before starting the experiment, ensure that the knobs of the instruments are at ZERO/minimum level.
- DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MISHANDLE THE INSTRUMENTS.
- If something goes wrong with the instrument in use, immediately inform the instructor or TAs for help.
- Look at all the connections carefully. During the exam you will have to make all the connections of your own.
- The PENCIL is to be used only for graph. Data should be recorded with the PEN.
- One reading must be signed by the instructor. Any change made to a signed reading must be re-checked by the instructor again.
- Students performing experiment no 5 & 7 must deposit their IDs. They will be issued the prism after collecting the ID card. It will be returned once you have returned the prism. Laser diode will remain on the optical bench (it is not to be removed).
- Look for the allotment on the roster on the notice board outside the lab.
- After all experiments are over, just before end-semester exam, you shall get a “MAKE-UP” week where you can repeat or practice some/all experiments.
For more details about lab report, please see the lab manual (page 2 & 3).
