Indian classical dance, or Shastriya Nritya, is an umbrella term for various performance arts rooted in religious Hindu musical theatre styles, whose theory and practice can be traced to the Sanskrit text Natya Shastra.

Hindustani Vocal Music
Indian classical music is the art music of the Indian subcontinent. Bharat's Natyashastra was the first treatise laying down fundamental principles of dance, music, and drama.
Hindustani VocalInstructor: Mrs. Bhaswati Sarma, Mrs. Anita Mahanta Ms. Bhaswati Sarma is an M. Mus in Hindustani Classical Music (vocal) with First class from Sangeet Bhavana, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, 2010. She qualified RET examination (2011) and pursuing Ph.D. research on the topic "Distinctive Role of Female Musician in Dhrupad Music: Vocal and Instrumental" at Sangeet-Bhavana, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan. She obtained the ‘GAIKI' or singing style of Dagargharana of Dhrupad music under the tutelage of Dr. Kaberi Kar, Professor, Sangeet-Bhavana, Visva-Bharati and famous artist of Dagar Gharana. Ms. Anita Mahanta is trained in Hundustani classical music as well as in Rabindra Sangeet. She had completed MA in Music (Vocal) from Indira Kala Sangeet Viswavidyalaya (Khairagarh University) in 2009. She had also completed M. Hindustani classical music is the Hindustani or North Indian style of Indian classical music. The style is sometimes called North Indian classical music or Shāstriya Sangīt or also known as Klāsikī Mausīqī.
