The Executive Committee of the NATIONAL ORGANIC SYMPOSIUM TRUST (NOST), a non-profit organization, and the Department of Chemistry at the INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY GUWAHATI (IITG) are pleased to invite you to the 8th NOST Conference for Research Scholars (J-NOST).

This annual event will be held from Saturday, December 15 to Monday, December 17, 2012 on the beautiful campus of the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, Assam, India.

Since the very establishment of NOST in 1983 for promoting Organic Chemistry through scientific interactions such as organization of conferences/seminars all over the India, it has been involved in such activities where established organic chemists get a platform to share their research work. In 2003, it was decided by the Board of Trustees of the NOST to provide a separate forum for research scholars/junior scientists to have scientific deliberations and interactions. Since then, seven such conferences were organized in a very successful manner. The 8th NOST conference for research scholars (J-NOST) is planned to be held during December 15-17, 2012 at IIT Guwahati.

Therefore, this symposium is the premier event to highlight recent research endeavours in organic chemistry by young and green minds while pursuing their Doctoral Degree. This will provide a breadth of programming and opportunities to share and earn culture of organic chemistry among the young-sters in Indian scenario and that you won’t want to miss. The 8th J-NOST Symposium will feature 3 distinguished speakers, plus 50 young growing scientists will delivered their achievements and 25 will present posters. A Conference Banquet and casual social events will round out the program. Recreational and cultural activities are readily available at this beautiful venue, Guwahati, which is the gateway for North East India and is well known for its culture, assamese society and ever green scenic beauty. Please revisit our website soon for further information and to register, as updates will be added regularly. We look forward to seeing you in December 2012.
