Abstract:
 
The Ph.D. thesis involves the following areas of research:
  1. Ranking of available literatures on chitosan based resins and commercial resins for the recovery and removal of Pd (II) from aqueous and waste acidic and basic solutions.  Identification of potential low cost chitosan based resins.
  2. Characterization and batch adsorption of chitosan for Pd (II) recovery from synthetic electroless plating solutions.
  3. Characterization and batch adsorption of commercial resins or Pd (II) recovery from synthetic electroless plating solutions.
  4. Preparation, characterization and batch adsorption of low cost chitosan based resins for Pd (II) recovery from synthetic electroless plating solutions.
