Full length paper submission is closed on 13 February. The online registration is still open. Authors register for the programme by 17th of February 2012 will be allowed to present their paper in the conference. However, we will not be able to include their papers in the abstract volume and CD proceedings. All presented paper will be considered for possible publication in a post conference book volume after full review of the paper.
About the Conference
Urbanization is occurring at a faster rate all over the world. In developing countries, the process of urbanization is more often unplanned and disorganized, resulting in various hazards due to ecological imbalance. Keeping this in mind, this conference is being organized to provide a platform for discussion among various relevant disciplines so that some meaningful practical strategies can be evolved to ensure sustainable development of urban areas located in ecologically sensitive zones.
About the Institute
Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IITG) is one of the leading institutes of technology and excellence in India. It was established in 1994. At present the Institute has eleven departments and three inter-disciplinary academic centres covering all the major engineering, science and humanities disciplines. IIT Guwahati has the world class infrastructure for carrying out advanced research and has been equipped with state-of-the-art scientific and engineering instruments. Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati's campus is on a sprawling 285 hectares plot of land on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra around 20 kms from the heart of the Guwahati city.
About the Department
The Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Guwahati has been consistently working for addressing various Civil Engineering issues of the country and is considered as the pioneer in the region. The department is involved in research and consultancy projects sponsored by various governmental agencies and companies from the country and abroad.
About the Centre of Excellence
Centre of Excellence for Integrated Land-use Planning and Water Resource Management (ILPWRM) was established in the Civil Engineering Department of IIT Guwahati to carry out state of the art research work so as to assist concern implementing agencies working in the field of Urban Development by proving information and necessary guidance. The centre was established with sponsorship of Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Govt. of India. |
