Responsibilities

Responsibilities of DIT

  1. Set up a Project Reveiw and Steering Group (PRSG) to review and steer the progress of the project.
  2. Set up a National Steering Committee on Information Security Education and Awareness.
  3. Provide the necessary funds to Resource Centre/Participating Institute based on the recommendation of the PRSG, and/or assessment by DIT and as approved by DIT.
  4. Assist in expediting issues related to the progress of this project, co-ordination with the relevant Govt. departments/organisations/ national laboratories / Institutes and other concerned agencies.
  5. Take up any other issues and aspects related to the project.

Responsibilities of Resource Centre

  1. Train the faculty of the Participating Institutes.
  2. Provide technical support to the Participating Institutes attached to it.
  3. Offer M.Tech in Information Security/ M.Tech in Computer Science with specialisation in Information Security.
  4. Offer PhD program in Information Security.
  5. Offer B.Tech & M.Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Communication/ Computers disciplines retrofitted with Information Security courses.
  6. Organise Annual Appraisal workshop for Participating Institutes attached to it.
  7. Organise International Conferences (optional).
  8. Development of Learning Material in identified areas for use of Resource Centres and Participating Institutes in teaching Information Security Courses.
  9. Information Security Education Exchange Programme.(i.e Invite experts from Universities / Industries/ Govt. organisations within India and from other countries)
  10. Offer 2-semester Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Information Security.
  11. Offer 6-week Short-Term training programme in Information Security.

Responsibilities of Participating Institute

  1. Offer M.Tech in Information Security/ M.Tech in computer Science with specialisation in information Security (optional-only six Participating Institutes to offer the course).
  2. Offer PhD program in Information Security (optional).
  3. Offer B.Tech & M.tech in Electrical/Electronics/Communication/Computer disciplines retrofitted with Information Security Courses.
  4. Offer 2 -semester Post graduate Diploma programme or I-Semester Certificate Course in Information Security.
  5. Offer 2 - week Short-term training programme (2 per year) in Information Security.
