Information for Participants of QIP Course on Rotor Dynamics
Note: (i) Please note that ONLY bachelors hostel
accommodations (bedding would be provided) are available for gents participants
and NO accommodation is available for ladies.
(ii) Please note that for provisional candidates NO
Course-Kit would be available unless they deposit Caution Money/Registration
Fee by 30 Nov. 2008. On receipt of sufficient number of applications
provisional candidates’ candidature might be cancelled.
(iii) Please bring a warm jacket and an umbrella while
coming to IIT Guwahati during the short term course.
(iv) Accommodation has been provided in KAPILI
HOSTEL and Food has been arranged in Siang
Hostel in IITG Campus. Participants are advised
to directly go to Kapili Hostel while reaching the IITG Campus. PLEASE NOTE
THAT ALL PARTICIPANTS HAVE BEEN ACCOMMODATION IN KAPILI HOSTEL ONLY.
(v) A map is appended below to guide you to IIT-G. If you are coming by train you should come out of the railway station via platform no. 1 and IIT-G bus would be available for you near the Institute of Engineers building according to the following schedule:
----------------------------------------------------------------------FROM: Guwahati City (Institution of Engineers Building )TO: IIT Guwahati Campus Working days: 6:45 am, 8:15 am, 10:00 am, 12:00 am, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, 4pm, 5:15 pm,6:45 pm, 8:15 pm, 8:45 pm Saturdays and Sundays: 6:45 am, 8:15 am, 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3pm, 4 pm, 5:15pm, 6:45 pm, 8:15 pm, 8:45 pm------------------------------------------------------------------------- We can not arrange any transport facility in the night(note that IIT-G bus is available upto 8:45 pm only).You need to come by taxi or have to wait (if it is beyond 10 pm or so!) in the railway station waiting room till morning.Moreover there are lot of good hotels available near the railway station where you can stay if your train reaches Guwahati too late. Another information: The inauguration cum registration is scheduled to be at 9:15 am on 1st December.
Those coming by air for them Prepaid taxi (Rs 325 per car)
would be available at airport itself to come to IIT Campus.

Please note that the Inauguration Function of the Course would start from 9:15
AM on 15th Dec. 2008 in Seminar Room of the Department of Mechanical
Engg., Academic Complex, IIT Guwahati. Registration would start from 8:30 AM.
