In order to upgrade the knowledge and skills of the teachers working in the different institutions in the country, AICTE provides the financial assistance for organizing short term training programme in the emerging areas of Engineering Technology/ Pharmacy/ Management etc. The main aim of this course is to provide theoretical knowledge and practical training with special focus on their applications. This STC would address the issues related to generation or sources of hazards, management of hazardous wastes, mechanisms and treatment of the diseases caused by exposure to such hazards as well as control of environmental and workplace hazards.
This course is conducted by Centre For Environment, IIT Guwahati.

The course is open mainly to teachers of engineering colleges and polytechnics approved by AICTE. No course fee is charged for participants sponsored by AICTE approved institutions. However, Rs. 1000/- caution-money has to be sent by the provisionally selected participants, which will be returned only when participant joins the course. Eligible participants from other governments departments and industries have to pay a course fee of Rs. 2500/- and Rs.5000/- respectively per person and they must meet the T.A. and D.A. from their own organization. The payments are to be made by demand draft drawn on any nationalized bank in favor of QIP, IIT Guwahati, payable at Guwahati.

Selection Criteria

Total 30 participants will be selected based on first come first serve basis from priority

  1. AICTE recognized colleges/institutes/universities
  2. Government organizations
  3. Private organizations.
Selected participants will be informed by e-mail.

Boarding and Lodging

Boarding and lodging facilities will be provided only for the selected candidates from AlCTE approved institutions in the student’s hostels of the institute. However, lodging can be arranged in the Institute Guest House on payment of rent (subject to availability) as per the rate given below. Single occupancy: Rs. 450/- per day; Double occupancy: Rs. 550/- per day.
