Post-Conference Tour to 'Shillong'

note that Trip to 'Shillong' on Dec 12, 2009 will be contributory for the
conference delegates.
Charge
(subsidized): Rs. 500/- per head including sight seeing and food
(breakfast & lunch).

for confirmation by email: Nov 25, 2009
Please note the following:
- Maximum 150 participants will be accommodated for the trip on the
'first come first serve' basis by sending email confirmation and
cash payment of the above amount at the time of
receiving the Registration kit (on Dec 8 and Dec 9, 2009).
- If you plan to join the trip, you are required
to send an email to
trans.icann2009@gmail.com
(transport committee ID for ICANN-2009) with subject line 'Tour Confirmation'
by November 25, 2009.
- Once your confirmation is received, cancellation will not
be permitted at any later stage.
- Any request regarding joining the trip after 25th of
November, 2009 will not be entertained.
- Weather condition in Shillong in December usually remains pleasant. The
average daytime temperature is expected be around 10 degree C. However, carrying of cold clothing is recommended. The journey will
take ~4 hrs from IIT Guwahati. Lunch will be served at NEHU Guest house,
Shillong.

About Shillong:
The romantic city of Shillong has been
one of the important tourist destinations in the northeast. Shillong is called
the Scotland of East truly because of its natural beauty. Towering pines and
gurgling mountain streams, awesome waterfalls that go by the name of Elephant,
Crinoline, sweet falls, and the twin Bishop and Beadon. Then there are lakes and
gorges and caverns that all combine to make Shillong a tourist's delight. It's
about 100 km away from the Conference venue.
