INSPIRE: A Programme for School Children
Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) is one of the innovative programs for Xth to XIIth standard students by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India in order to strengthen the National Science and Technology base. The main objective of INSPIRE is to communicate to the youth population the excitements of creative pursuit of science through the interaction with the eminent scientists of the country.
IIT Guwahati is organizing a winter science camp INSPIRE at its campus during 15-21 December, 2009 for the talented school children of the North-Eastern region of India. This camp provides an opportunity for the students to interact with eminent scientists of the country which will not only nourish their curiosity in science but also help them to think out of the box.
School/college Principals may nominate maximum six students of Xth, XIth, and XIIth standard of their respective schools/colleges in the prescribed form latest by 23th November, 2009.
Selected candidates will be accommodated in the IITG campus during the camp. They will be eligible for free local hospitality and round trip train/bus fare from hometown to IIT Guwahati. The accompanying teacher will also be accommodated within the campus and would also be eligible for free local hospitality along with the round trip train/bus fare from hometown to IIT Guwahati.
