1. PhD:

(a) Dr. Swapan Kr. Pandit: Defended his thesis titled "HOC schemes for incompressible viscous flows on geometries beyond rectangular" on 9 May, 2007 (with Dr. D. C. Dalal, Department of Mathematics, IITG as the joint supervisor). After working as a research associate in IISc Bangalore, post doctoral fellow in Université Pierre et Marie Curie-Paris 6, he joined  BITS, PILANI, INDIA as a faculty member in the department of Mathematics. Currently he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Integrated Science Education and Research Centre in Visva Bharati University INDIA.

(b) Dr. Rajendra Kr. Ray: Defended his thesis titled  "Some new directions in HOC methodology: tackling circular geometries" on 12 September 2009. After spending a year as a research associate at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and working as a  post doctorate fellow at the Laboratoire d'Hydraulique Saint-Venant in Paris, France for another year, he is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the School of Basic Sciences at Indian Instititute of Technology Mandi.

(c) Dr. Shuvam Sen: Defended his thesis titled  "Compact biharmonic computation of the Navier-Stokes equations: Extension to complex flows" on 30 June 2012.  Currently he is working as an Associate Professor in the department of Mathematical Sciences in Tezpur University, INDIA.

(d) Dr. Bidyut Bikas Gogoi: Defended his PhD thesis titled  "Some diverse directions in higher order compact  methodologyon 30th December 2014. He is currently working as a scientist at Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

(e) Mr. Sougata Biswas: Likely to submit his thesis soon on  "Topological Construction of the Vortical Structures in 2D and 3D Separated Flows.". 

(f) Mr. Devanand: Currently working on "Mathematical Description and Simulation of Scroll Waves and Their Stability under Different Situations". 

(g) Mr. Pankaj Kumar: Currently working on  "Lattice Boltzmann methods for incompressible viscous flows around bluff bodies". 

2. MSc:

(a) Mr. Prasenjit Saha:  Completed his MSc project in May, 2004. Dissertation title: "Essentially Non-Oscillatory Schemes for Hyperbolic Conservation Laws".

(b) Mr. Pranjit Sarma: Completed his MSc project in May, 2006. Dissertation title: "Infinite Series Based Higher Order Compact Schemes for Convection-Diffusion Equations".

(c) Mr. Jitendra Kumar Singh: Completed his MSc project in May, 2006. Dissertation title: "Differential Equation Based Higher Order Compact Schemes for Convection-Diffusion Equations".

(d) Mr. Mayank Mehrotra: Completed his MSc project titled "Elliptic grid-generation around an aerofoil" in May 2009.

(e) Mr. Tapas Kanti Chottophadhyaya: Completed his MSc project titled "Numerical and exact solution Elliptic Differential Equations" in May 2010.
