Arindam Sinha Roy

Arindam has done his BTech in Biotechnology from VTU (2011) and completed his MTech in Environmental Engineering from NITK Surathkal (2013).He is interested in hydrogenogenic conversion of carbon monoxide using anaerobic microbial consortia in batch and lab scale bioreactor system. He is also investigating the application potential of this technology in bioenergy and wastewater treatment processes.

N. Arul Manikandan

Arul completed his BTech in Chemical Engineering from Anna University (2014). He was working as a JRF in this lab from April 2014. Arul Manikandan N is interested to work in the area of materials science and engineering. He is presently working under a broad topic entitled lignocellulosic biorefineries for biopolymer production, where his primary aim is to develop a strategy for the successful production of novel low cost biologically derived polymer nanocomposite. He plans to conduct this research by carrying out a unique marriage between the engineering aspects involved in the areas of materials science and biological science.

Arun Sakthivel

Arun has done his BTech in Chemical Engineering from Anna University (2014). He is interested in developing an algae-bacterial consortium for simultaneous biological nitrogen removal. He is working on completely autotrophic nitrogen removal (partial nitrification) by Anammox and its associated N2O emission. He is also investigating the effects of CO2 and nanoparticles on algae-bacterial consortium for its biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal from ammonium rich wastewater .

Dipak Kumar Kanaujiya

Dipak kumar kanaujiya completed his B.Tech in Biotechnology from Dr. AITH Kanpur in 2010. He is also completed his M.Tech in Biotechnology from IET Lucknow in 2016. He has worked on a 6 month project from CSIR-CDRI Lucknow. He is interested in working on Protein production from water

Lalit Goswami

Lalit has done his BTech in Biotechnology from SHIATS, Allahabad (2011).He has also completed his MTech in Biochemical Engineering from HBTI, Kanpur (2013). His research focuses on environmental biotechnology, biodegradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, biological removal and recovery of inorganic compounds from wastewaters and resource recovery, biodiesel and other biotechnological products: production, process design and kinetics; and potential application of ceramic membranes for treatment of industrial wastewaters.

Surjith Ramasamy

Surjith has done his BTech in Biotechnology from K.S.Rangasamy college of Technology (2012). He completed his MTech in Industrial Biotechnology from SASTRA University in 2014. He is interested in environmental-prospecting for the production of value added products as well as to remove pollutants from different anaerobic digestors. Currently he is working on anaerobic digestate as a substrate for marine microalgae for simultaneous carotenoid production and pollutant removal.

Tanushree Paul

Tanushree has done B.Tech (Biotechnology) and M.Tech (Environmental Biotechnology), an integrated course from Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Bhubaneswar, Odisha. She is having keen interest in biological removal of pollutants (Bioremediation). Her research now emphasizes mainly on biological treatment of refinery wastewater using microorganism. She would also like to employ some techniques for simultaneous resource recovery along with the wastewater treatment for attainment of some value added products or some potential alternative source of energy.

Tejas Namboodiri

Tejas did his BTech in Biotechnology from NIT Raipur (2012). He completed his MTech in Industrial Biotechnology from NITK Surathkal in 2014. He is focussed on developing a bioprocess model to produce fungal chitosan. To achieve this broad objective, he plans to employ different fermentation strategies to enhance the chitosan production from a novel fungal isolate. He would also incorporate omics studies to analyse metabolic pathways for improving chitosan production thereby developing a strategy for sustainable fungal chitosan production utilising lignocellulosic wastes.

Manoj Kumar

He did his BTech in Biotechnology from NIT Raipur (2014). He joined the lab in 2016 to carry out his MTech project work. His work involves removal of sulphate from wastes and simultaneous carbon monoxide conversion by anaerobic biomass. He would investigate the efficiency of sulfate reduction and CO conversion by immobilising anaerobic biomass in different matrices and to scale up this process to a lab-scale packed-bed reactor.
