Research Interests
Microfluidics is a science which deals with the study of fluid flows in channels having characteristic length scales of the order of microns or less than that. Fluid engineering at micro and nano scales finds many applications to medical diagnostics, drug delivery and healthcare applications. We study the microscale transport of both the Newtonian and rheological fluids (both the single phase as well as multiphase) under different forcing conditions. We also carried out theoretical analysis to understand the underlying flow physics stemming from a complex interplay among different factors such as surface wettability, surface structuring, electrical forcing, magnetic field and other forcing factors. Also, we study the microscale transport of heat under electrokinetic actuation and in presence of porous media.
