CHAKHESANG:

The word Chakhesang is an acronym formed by letters derived from the names of three tribes and is a tribe of Nagaland. The word Cha is derived from Chakhru, Khe from Kheza and Sang from Sangtam

Geographical Location

In order to receive maximum development benefits of all sorts , the Chakru, Kheza,  southern Sangtam and a group of  eastern Rengma all living in a compact and vast territory , had opted to identify and unite them selves under the title ‘Chakhesang’. This term was recognized by the government around the year 1947.
