KOCH

The Koch dialect is of Tibeto –Burman  origin. The influence of both Bengali and Assamese languages is reflected in their dialect. 

Geographical Location

The Koch is a scheduled tribe inhabiting the western parts of west Garo hills of Meghalaya, certain parts  of Assam , Manipur and Tripura. According to the accepted historical view, the Koch appear to have migrated from northwest China.
