SAEINDIA IIT Guwahati Club

With the aim of gathering and developing knowledge among automobile enthusiasts in campus the club was started a year ago with permission from department of mechanical engineering. The club is officially recognized as SAEINDIA collegiate club under SAEINDIA(visit www.saeindia.org for more details about SAE). The club is aimed at fulfilling the interests of automobile enthusiasts the club have nurtured itself well to participate in various competitions at national level and on its way to participate in international level events.
Now club is expanding with new members joining this year and making the club more functional with many activities. The Club, started in August 2010, aims to organize automotive workshops, industrial visits, seminars and other events for the benefit of students and increase student-industry interactions.

SAE International is a global body of scientists, engineers, and practitioners that advances self-propelled vehicle and system knowledge in a neutral forum for the benefit of society. The Society is a standards development organization for the engineering of powered vehicles of all kinds, including cars, trucks, boat aircraft and others. SAEINDIA is the Indian group of SAE international.

Activities of the club

From the time of formation of club all the team members have worked hardly to get through national level automobile design competition Virtual BAJA 2011. Now the club is developing into fully functioning club with many activities like

Lectures on various topics related to automobile engineering and club
Competitions for members of the club
Workshops on various mechanical software
And many other activities

The club is also preparing for its final round of BAJA SAEINDIA 2012 to be held in February. We have regular meetings with club members to carry out functions of the club.
