IITG Student Gymhkhana Council
The IITG Student Gymkhana Council is a powerful and apolitical
student organization that acts as the link between the students and the administration.
The Gymhkana Club promotes the objectives of fostering extra-curricular and co-curricular
activites, welfare of students and their stay on the campus. It comprises of
five boards viz. Cultural Board, Sports Board, Technical Board, Students' Welfare Board and
Hostels' Affairs Board.
In the hierarchy general secretaries are followed by individual secretaries of clubs and
committees.
All the members of the Students' Gymkhana are elected for the students, by the students
and from the students. Elections are held mid-March.
Elections are conducted by Chief Election Officer who is nominated by a
committee comprising of Dean of Student Affairs and One Faculty Member
