About Me
Hi I am Shirshendu Das, a research scholar in Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. I was born in Silchar, Assam (India). Though I am doing research in Computer Architecture, my childhood dream was to be a footballer. I was a very good goal keeper during my school life, but I forced to left it (goal keeping) after broken my left hand while saving a corner kick. Unfortunately, football is not my career but I love to say that I was a footballer. After joining IIT Guwahati, I started playing badminton and now I love this game not less than football. The details of my career related activities are mentioned in the next paragraph. My address and contact details are available here.
My Current Status
Currently I am doing PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), Guwahati, India. I joined to IITG as a PhD student in December 2010. Other achivements:
My Hobbies
  • Badminton: I started playing badminton from January 2012, and now after one year, I like this game more than any other game. This is the only extracurricular activity that I am continuously doing from last one year without any break.
  • Football: Football is my ex-lover. Now I have learned to live without her.

  • Dancing: I don’t know any thing about dancing but I love to dance. Recently, I have started going to dance class. Lets see what happen.
  • Music, Movie, Food: Nothing new in it. Everybody loves to do these three.

  • Rock climbing: I not a professional rock climber and never tried to do it in extreme level. But still I like this game. Running and climbing on the rocks became a hobby for me and I always do that whenever I go outside.

  • Swimming: In India, all who born in village know how to swim. I am also from a village and I know swimming from my childhood. During those days we used to swim in river for 5-6 hours (please don’t think that we used to do it non-stop ). Now those golden days have gone but I still go for swimming. Many many thanks to IIT Guwahati for providing such a nice swimming pool.

  • Traveling: Normally I like to visit hilly and undiscovered areas. My next plan is Ladak.
