About Us

The Electronics Club aims to provide students a platform and resources to gain practical skills and realize projects. We strive to teach and help students acquire new skills in an era of rapidly evolving technology. We believe in coming up with projects that are innovative and tackle real life problems. To achieve these objectives we conduct various lectures, workshops and mentorship programs to help students realize their projects. The mission of the club is to expose students to challenges and new technologies in the field of electronics and thus to nurture and develop their skill set in this arena. Regular meetings and mentorship programs will definitely help students to achieve their goals. The emphasis is on experimenting and learning, no experience is necessary but eagerness to learn is essential.



What We Do

• We help students to acquire and develop new skill-sets by conducting various lectures and workshops.
• We motivate and guide them to come up with innovative projects that tackle real-life problems.
• We provide resources and the technical know-how to realize and shape their projects.
• Through regular meetings and sessions we improve students’ technical and leadership skills.


Past Events

In the last year, the following lectures and workshops were conducted:
a) Introductory lecture on sensors.
b) Lecture on basic electronics for freshers.
c) Introductory lecture on Matlab.
d) Image processing with Matlab.
e) Lecture on Arduino microcontroller board.
f) Lecture on wireless communication with Zigbee.
g) Arduino Coding 3 day workshop.

Contest:-
(a) Electronics club Circuit Design Contest: This competition was for only freshers to encourage them and give them some idea about the field of electronics. We had conducted some basic lectures for freshers before this competition. In this competition basically they had to design a circuit and make a working prototype on breadboard.
(b) Image Processing based Robotic Arm: For the first time in our college, an event was conducted based on Image processing. In this event they had to make an autonomous robotic arm whose functioning was based on Image processing technique.
(c) Electronics club Innovation challenge: In this competition, the participants had to come out with an innovative idea that will directly influence our campus.

WEARABLE MOUSE USING FLEX SENSOR & ACCELEROMETER (STATUS: ONGOING)

Description: We aim to create a glove which will be able to control and monitor our laptop / mobile /presentations wirelessly and accurately as compared to current gesture recognition through image processing technology. Click here for the details :



SELF SUSTAINED WSN FOR IOT APPLICATIONS (Status : Ongoing)
Mentor - Shantam Raj

Description: This project implements a WSN that is supposed to run without manual intervention (like replacing the power source or changing the programming) for years by integrating Energy Harvesting. The sensor data include temperature, atmospheric pressure, ambient light, humidity and altitude. The micro climate sensed using the WSN and the local weather information can be used for efficient indoor energy management Click here for the details :



TOUCHLESS 3D TRACKING INTERFACE (STATUS: ONGOING)

Description: Using a combination of low- and high-tech components, we'll show you how to build a completely touchless 3D tracking interface. This project will introduce you to the principle of capacitive sensing, and the Arduino microcontroller. Click here for the details :



BRAILLE PRINTER (STATUS: ONGOING)

Description: Our Project aims to help blind to read the text captured using a camera in an affordable way. Our prototype prints two letters (limitation due to cost). This prototype is a cheaper alternative to the costly braille embossers present in the market Click here for the details :



PERSISTENCE OF VISION (STATUS: ONGOING)
Mentor : Rahul Kande

Description: The propeller clock or any other image will be linear array of light emitting diodes, rotating at a high angular velocity to generate a circular screen. Now by synchronising these light emitting diodes, and keeping in mind the concepts of persistence of vision and limit of resolution, we can display a clock or any other image . SMART SWITCH(STATUS: ONGOING)

Description: The aim is to design a timer switch to prevent loss of electricity and overcharging of gadgets.



BLIND WALKING STICK (STATUS: ONGOING)
Mentor : Sourav Mishra , SaiCharan Thirandas

Description: Blind stick is an innovative stick designed for visually disabled people for improved navigation. We here propose an advanced blind stick that allows visually challenged people to navigate with ease using advanced technology. The blind stick is integrated with ultrasonic sensor along with light and water sensing. Click here for the details :



LETTER DELIVERY SYSTEM (STATUS: ONGOING)
Mentor : Sai Charan

Description: We will develop a letter notification platform , that will have the database of all the hostel boarders in a given hostel, according to their room number. When a letter arrives in a hostel, a message will be generated on the person’s mobile number, requesting him to receive the letter. INTERFACING ATEM SWITCHER WITH TOUCH SCREEN (STATUS: ONGOING)
Mentor : Raghuram Krishna Swami

Description: The ATEM switcher is a video multiplexer. The multiplexing controls come on a separate board(which is very expensive). That's why we are trying to multiplexing with a touchscreen.



SONAR BASED SECURITY SYSTEM WITH SONAR DISPLAY (STATUS: ONGOING)
Mentor : Sai Charan

Description: We intend to make a sonar based security system, which can be used in high security vaults etc. to detect motion. It consists of a sonar sensor attached to a servo motor, which will continuously collect data and compare it to detect any intrusion. Click here for the details :



WIRELESS KEYBOARD FOR ANDROID MOBILE (STATUS: ONGOING)

Description: Android smart phones have become very essential components in our day to day life. But we often find that writing long messages and texts is a very inconvenient task on the soft tap keyboard which is the default. This project aim to develop a hardware and its software so that we can use wireless USB Keyboard on smartphone. Click here for the details :



DTMF BASED HOME AUTOMATION (Status: Ongoing) :
Mentor : Shreyash, SaiCharan.

Description: Here, by using a cell phone we controls the home appliances from anywhere in the world (In Network Area). The receiver receives the modulated signal and demodulates it and the user input. In this system, we are going to make a DTMF based home/office appliance. Click here for the details :



RGB DOODLER (STATUS: ongoing)

Description : A simple LED doodler which can trace a path of LEDs on a 2D Led Matrix as we move over it. Click here for the details :



MUSIC VISUALIZATION ON 3D LED MATRIX USING SIGNAL PROCESSING (STATUS: ongoing)

Description: Observing the similar patterns in the given music through signal processing and displaying specific animation for the specific pattern of the music on the 3d led cube. Click here for the details :



USING nRF24L01+ TRANSCEIVERS TO CHAT
Status: completed

Description: We often want to chat with people when internet connection is not available. Imagine being able to chat with your friends without having an internet connection. HAND GESTURE CONTROLLED RC HELICOPTER (Status : Completed)

Description : It’s always fun to play with aerial devices. Furthermore, what if we could control a helicopter in a much more seamless manner based on hand gestures? So in this project we used hand gestures to control RC helicopter. Here we replaced control system, such as two hand joystick, with seamless hand based gestures using Leap motion controller. STREET LIGHT AUTOMATION (Status: Completed)

Description : To avoid the power wastage from street lamps when no any vehicle/human is passing near a street lamp, we designed a project where we can automate street lamps to glow only whenever a vehicle/human passes near the lamp and for the rest of the time the lamp is switched off to avoid power wastage. BUS TRACKING SYSTEM (STATUS: COMPLETED)

Description: We all have faced the problem of waiting for bus with having no idea where the bus is. This projects presents a proper tracking system of buses which can be implemented anywhere to solve the problem, by providing user the location of bus via SMS. Click Here to watch the video --->



HOME AUTOMATION DEMO (STATUS: COMPLETED)

Description: This demo model shows the controlling of all electrical appliances in home by touch of finger using RF communication. Since RF is used, it enables the user to control their appliances from any part of their home hassle free. Click Here to watch the video --->

Autonomous Edge Detector

Description: This is a robot which have four IR sensors which are on all the four sides which start detecting the edge .Through this sensing robot automatically turns when an edge is detected and continues to move on the surface.Edge here is detected by significant difference in elevation. click here for the video
