ATOMIC ABSORPTION SPECTROSCOPY
Atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) is a spectroanalytical procedure for the quantitative determination of chemical elements using the absorption of optical radiation (light) by free atoms in the gaseous state.
FLAME PHOTOMETER
A photoelectric flame photometer is a device used in inorganic chemical analysis to determine the concentration of certain metal ions, among them sodium, potassium, lithium, and calcium. Group 1 and Group 2 metals are quite sensitive to Flame Photometry due to their low excitation energies.
ION CHROMATOGRAPHY
Ion-exchange chromatography is a chromatography process that separates ions and polar molecules based on their affinity to the ion exchanger. It works on almost any kind of charged molecule including large proteins, small nucleotides, and amino acids.
GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY (GC)
Gas chromatography is a common type of chromatography used in analytical chemistry for separating and analyzing compounds that can be vaporized without decomposition.
ULTRAVIOLET-VISIBLE SPECTROPHOTOMETRY (UV-VISIBLE)
Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy or refers to absorption spectroscopy or reflectance spectroscopy in the ultraviolet-visible spectral region. This means it uses light in the visible and adjacent (near-UV and near-infrared [NIR]) ranges.
LAMINAR FLOW HOOD
Laminar flow hood are ventilation devices used within the lab to provide an aseptic work area that helps protect both the laboratory personnel and the materials they are working with.
SPECTROPHOTOMETER
A spectrophotometer measures either the amount of light reflected from a sample object or the amount of light that is absorbed by the sample object.
CENTRIFUGE
Centrifugation is a process which involves the application of the centripetal force for the sedimentation of heterogeneous mixtures with a centrifuge, and is used in industrial and laboratory settings. This process is used to separate two immiscible substances.
SHAKING INCUBATOR
Shaking incubator, also known as environmental shakers, is equipment used for cell culturing, cell aeration, and solubility studies. In addition to stable temperature conditions, they use an orbital agitation at variable speeds to affect the growth of cell cultures. The shaker provides an orbital shaking motion, adjustable between 30 to 300rpm with a gentle start action. The shaking speed is microprocessor controlled and set via the digital LED control panel. The incubator also incorporates a versatile digital timer. After the timer has counted down the shaking action will stop and an alert will sound, as a safety feature the incubator will continue to run.
TKN ANALYSER
It is an instrument for the quantitative determination of organic nitrogen in chemical substances like ammonia by Kjeldahl method or Kjeldahl digestion. Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen or TKN is the sum of organic nitrogen, ammonia (NH3) and ammonium (NH4+) in the chemical analysis of soils.
