CONCEPT NOTE

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is going to organize a two-week Capacity Building Programme on Research Methodology as a new orientation for the benefit of University as well as College faculty members in Humanities and Social Sciences during March 7-18, 2018. The objective of the course is to develop research capabilities among young faculty and turn completed research into publishable material in the form of journal articles/books. Specifically, the objectives will be to:

TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION

Outstation participants will be paid TA & DA (as per the institute rules), and board and lodging will be provided at free of cost.

SELECTION Intake of participants for the course will be restricted to 30. The selection of candidates will be done as per the ICSSR guidelines. Decision of the Selection Committee in this regard is final. Those who are interested to attend the course must submit their application in the prescribed format (enclosed) to the address mentioned below or by email to cb2018iitg@gmail.com latest by January 20, 2018. Decision on selection will be displayed on the event website by January 25, 2018. Applicants must confirm their participation in CB 2018 by January 31, 2018. HOW TO REACH IIT GUWAHATI The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is located just on the outskirts of the city of Guwahati and is well connected to other parts of the country by road, rail or air. There are direct air services from/to Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata with connectivity to all major cities in the country and direct train services from/to all the metros and other major cities. Air India, Jet Airways, Jetlite, IndiGo, SpiceJet and GoAir operate regular flights to and from Guwahati. It is around 20 km from the heart of the city and around 40-minute drive from the airport as well as railway station. To reach the institute from the city, there is an Institute bus service that runs regularly to and from the city.
