My area of research

"Development of a high speed Modal Wavefront Sensor of light beam".

Wavefront can be defined as the surface formed by the locus of all the points that are at an equal optical path length from the source or the points that are in the same phase. Wavefront sensor can be considered to be a device that is used to measure the aberration present in the wavefront.

Huygen's principle

"Each and every points of a wavefront may be considered as a secondary source of spherical waves or wavelets which spread out with the speed of light. The new wavefront at a later time is the surface that is tangential to all the secondary wavelets taken together."

This indicates that the wavefront will travel in free space with the speed of light, without any change in its original shape until and unless it encounters any obstacle that deforms its original shape. Any unwanted deviation in the shape of the wavefront from the required shape is the aberration present in the wavefront.
